Meet Hailey & Rey

Hi! We're Hailey & Rey, and our Canadian story started just like yours might be starting right now. When we first arrived in Toronto as a student and worker, we had big dreams but zero connections. Coming from a country where things worked completely differently, we faced countless "where do I even start?" moments.

Our Journey & Challenges

Picture this: We had no credit score (didn't even know what that was!), no international ID, and our savings from back home seemed to shrink by the day due to exchange rates. The simplest things became huge challenges – figuring out the TTC, opening a bank account, even knowing which phone plan to choose. I was trying to focus on my studies while my husband, despite being a qualified professional, struggled to find work because of language barriers.

We spent countless hours searching the internet, asking questions in community groups, and honestly, making quite a few costly mistakes along the way. While we watched permanent residents and refugees receive guidance and support, we realized there was almost no help available for temporary residents like us.
